So Aaron hit a parked car while riding his bike. He had gotten a new bike for Christmas, and Nathan was almost done but needed to work on the brakes. Aaron was not to ride it. Either he forgot or didn't think it was that big of a deal.
The accident could have been a lot worse. He was riding his bike to say hi to friends. He tried braking, and instead of stopping, he flew off of his bike into the back of a parked car. From there, he fell on the concrete where most of the damage took place. We ran off to the ER where Aaron was transported, via ambulance, to the Children's Hospital in Dallas. Aaron walked away from the accident with fairly good news. No concussion...but he did have two jaw fractures, a few loose teeth, and stitches at the corner of his lip and chin. He had a hole in his chin. They had to stitch 7 layers. The loose teeth were left to tighten on their own, even though they did brace the 4 bottom teeth.
Aaron had wonderful doctors watching after him as they fixed him up. The accident was no cup of tea, and the support we received from our neighbors and family in helping with childcare that afternoon as well as the motivating words to Aaron, were a blessing!
