Aaron is at it again playing
Flag Football. He is playing for the Red Raiders. He enjoys his new team. He
plays a little bit of everything but center is his main position. He’s good at
it. Nathan isn’t coaching this season,
but he enjoys watching Aaron from the sidelines. He coaches him off the field
and spends time explaining the game to me. I enjoy having him on the sidelines
with me.
We got to visit with lots of
family this month. David, our cousin from Alaska, visited us for a few hours
while visiting Dallas. We enjoyed every minute of it. Spending time with David brought
back awesome memories from our time together in Houston. We also got to visit
with Aunt Becca. We all enjoyed her visit and were super happy to have her as a
fan at Aaron’s game.
We remodeled 3 rooms in our
house this month. Nathan and I have been sleeping upstairs with the kids for 3
years. It was just easier to do that with the ages of our children. After the
twins turned 3, we decided it was time to move downstairs to the master
bedroom. The room was being used as the playroom so we had to clean out a lot
and reorganize. Totally worth it though. We updated flooring in the master, got
new bedroom furniture (upgraded to a king!), and applied a fresh coat of paint.
We have enjoyed our new room and the kids have loved having their new space
upstairs.
Once again, we participated in the
Princeton Egg Hunt. The kids did so well and didn’t need us to help them hunt.
CAN THEY PLEASE STOP GROWING?!? Same thing happened when we dyed Easter Eggs.
Each kid loved having their own kit. They were good. All the kids were given
the chance to participate in Palm Sunday in waving Palm branches and singing at
the beginning of the service. James never made it out. He was too shy but he
enjoyed watching his siblings do it. Asher did his own thing and just followed
where the kids were going. Sarah held Aaron’s hand. They were cute together.
The week before Easter, the kids, except Aaron, stayed with Grandma and Grandpa
so Nathan and I could finish our remodel. It was super helpful. We picked up
the kids that Saturday, we participated in their church’s egg hunt. Kids
enjoyed all their candy! Easter was special with family visitors. Aaron got to
carry one of the Alleluia banners into the church. He was so excited and
honored! Lucas and Cassie came to visit and stayed the whole week. Pappy and
Granny did their usual Easter Scavenger hunt. Super fun!
We got to enjoy a few park
visits. April is always a beautiful month to get out. A not too hot/not too
cold month…just warm. We also had some rainy days which allowed us to spend
some time indoors at some of our favorite places.
We celebrated the twins’s
baptismal birthday. Nathan quizzes the kids like it is their confirmation
review. I love how they just stare at him! Aaron was super good at answering
all their questions! The twins are good at telling the Easter story though. The
twins love Sunday School and enjoy singing Christmas songs...all the time!
We went to Legacy ER too many
times this month! Ear infections for the littles multiple times. We could not
get rid of the bug preventing the kids from getting rid of the infection. It
got so bad for James that we had to get a new set of tubes for him as well as
his adenoids removed. During all of this, Sarah had an accident with a coffee
table. The accident was so bad we had to take her to the ER for stitches. She
did so well when they stitched her up. No cries or refusal to get the
stitches. We got them removed about 10
days later. However, there was only 1 stitch left. Somehow Sarah took the other
3 out.
Once again, Aaron pulled off A/B
honor roll and perfect attendance. He knows exactly what he needs to do to pull
off A/B. He has no desire to work harder than that. Smart kid…I guess!
That’s our month! Kids keep us
on our toes. Life would be boring without them. We are blessed. I know I say
that a lot, but it’s the truth!
