Surprise Grandpa

We decided to surprise Grandpa for his birthday.  We knew he wouldn't suspect a visit from us, since going out of town with 3 young ones and a 6 year old is crazy and not like us.  We don't like to hear are babies unhappy.  We are wimps.  The trip went well though. It was a little too long for the babies, but we can't complain too much. The trip is just under 4 hours. Some folks have to drive further to see their family.  We will be blessed with that short trip!

How did the surprise go? Nathan called him Friday night to sing happy birthday (he was right outside his parent's door).  As Nathan got to the end of the song, he opened the door to his parent's home.  It made Grandpa's day.  Totally worth it!  The kids were happy to see their Grandpa and Grandma.  Nathan and I even got to go out on a date during our weekend visit.
